Just take the backup of the database and the B2 Installation folder and go ahead.
If you have a customised index.php file. you will have to make it again.
I backed up all my files and upgraded from b2 to WP a few months ago when it first came out. Never had a problem. Just follow the directions to the letter for upgrading and you will be fine. 🙂 Then come back here and let us know how you did and your address so we can visit~
Your archives are stored separately in the database you set up when you first installed b2, so uploading new files can’t overwrite them. I was also hesitant about switching, but I found the upgrade process very smooth.
I”m at a loss here. I’m trying to upgrade now, and am having a lot of troubles. Can someone explain to me in very simple terms how this is done? Pleeease! 🙂

I am upgrading from b2 0.6.2 to WP 1.0 platinum and came across this when importing info from b2
In line 62 – 63 of admin/import-b2.php there are two .php’s –> “.php.php?step=1”.
Have you looked at the readme? If you’re all ready, let’s go!
Same in lines 189 – 190
Did you defeat the boss monster at the end? Good, then you’re ready for
Step 2.
I deleted the second “.php” and all was well in both cases.
However, in line 247, I get this – Now there is one more step to the upgrade process. Continue upgrade
Problem here is that the file “upgrade-071-to-072.php” doesn’t exist in the download.
Where would this file be?

That seems to have worked.
