Category as frontpage?

    I am setting up a portfolio website which will also feature a blog.

    I do not want to set up my “Blog” posts page as my home page, and do not want an arbitrary static page as my front page. I want my site to load directly to the “Portfolio” category page. It sounds as though this is a matter of creating multiple posts pages, since I cannot select categories under the Reading Settings options.

    I am not sure this will do what you want, but it is worth a try.

    Install and activate the Page Links To plugin.

    Create a new Page and set the ‘Point this content to – An alternate URL’ and enter the URL of your Portfolio category.

    Use that Page as your static front page.
