Have you tried:
– deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
– switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
– re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

Visual editor of WordPress is not working
In what way is it “not working”?
It is not showing any buttons on html and visual tabs and cannot see the text/code which is their but the code is not visible and can be seen if it is highlighted in the editor this only in case of editing a published post
For new post every thing is working fine
Did you import any content into this site?
the site is live for a year so content present but it is not imported
only word press was updated

What happens if you create a new post from the text of an older post?
If i click on ctrl+a in the old post and paste in new post it copies as normal text in the new post once i publish it and then try to edit it, then text can not be seen unless it is highlighted and the buttons are not visible and html and visual tabs not working
In that case, it’s a content/database issue. what happens if you first paste the text into a plain text editor such as NotePad, then copy’n’paste it into a new post?
actually new post i can post directly , new post does not have any problem
Only problem is with editing a published post
the editor problem is only when i want to edit a already published post all through the page code was present it is not visible like if the text color was white on white background and the editor buttons are not visible
So this happens with all published posts – not just older ones?
