• Morning all,

On my site i would like the option for people to submit their own posts, effectively creating a blog that is by friends. I know this kind of falls under a forum but in keeping with my site I would call it a blog.
I would like a link that when you click it, a pop up appears with a form to fill out (their post) and then when they submit it, it comes in for moderation.
Is something like this possible? Is there a plug in out there for this already?

    Many thanks in advance all.

    James

  • Hi littlelondonkitchen,

I do not know if this is possible, most probably not. Still I would not recommend such thing from the security point of view. If the input is not sanitized properly, then you have an open invitation for malicious users with such functionality.

Why don’t you simply create users in WordPress and give them the Author or less privileged role? Like this your friends can login, post and edit their OWN posts.

Ok, i might go down this avenue then. I dont really want people to have the hassle of having to register, so I think there is a plug in that i have seen where people can sign in through their Facebook (or other social) account.

Is it possible for the posts to go to a different area than my normal blog area though? Kind of like 2 seperate blog areas, one for me and one for friends?

    Many thanks!

    Hi,

It seems you want a forum functionality through WordPress. If you do not want people to register, then you can create the users for them.

Why don’t you check out http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bbpress/?

It is a plugin developed by the same WordPress people which gives WordPress also forum functionality.
