    Hi,
you can close the comments from dashboard -> Settings -> reading -> Allow people to comment to new posts (for new posts only!)
-also if you want to modify the php code you need to create a child theme and depending on the theme that you are using you can delete all the code of the tags that has the comments between it might be a <div class=”comments”> or something like that…

Hi. I loked in Dashboard,Settings, Reading and did not see an option to either allow or disallow people to comment to new posts.

Hi: I went to the Discussion area and, again there was nothing to turn off the feature to add a comment. I am trying to set my pages up as regular web pages and not as blogs, and realize that wp was established mostly for blogs. Any help?

In Discussion area you have an option
” Allow people to post comments on new articles “
-make sure not to have this checked
Also you can check this thread. It has a possible solution for you.

All boxes were unchecked. The thread does not seem to resolve. In addition, the user self-hosts, which may be part of her issue.

Any ideas. All I want to do is create web pages, not blogs, if I can.

    Thanks
    Ron
