Like a lot of what I am seeing here but am curious-
Is setting up a basic website using WP possible by choosing a host, a theme/template and adding content- or is learning to write code mandatory in order to get up and running?

You also need a domain name, but writing code is optional.

Great. Thats what Im hoping for, I can do all the ‘steps’ to get up and running and with a decent template can be quite creative. But learning and writing actual computer code is something I just do not have time to do, thats better left to folks who enjoy that stuff.
I am liking the templates over @ Devpress and am going to utilize one of them I believe – any thoughts on them?

Don’t know Devpress but generally speaking, many WP users are not coders. For an overwhelming majority of needs, you should be able to get functionality either out-of-the-box or through a plugin.

And even in cases when you need more, there’s a good chance that simple code edits can get you there. Very few people have to actually create code.

DevPress themes are a little less newbie friendly than some (a lot of your customization will be in your functions.php file, for example). Not to say they’re not good (I use a couple, and I’m a fan of their core, Hybrid), but they can be daunting if you’re brand new.
