After upgrading to 3.2.2 from a 3 year old version
what was the older version?
Deneding upon what the older version was, hve you followed applicable instructions of this codex: http://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress_Extended
t-p thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, we did not follow the instructions. We just used the automatic update. Is it possible to retrace the process, or is there another option.
t-p overlooked to advise you of the previous WordPress version. Do not know which version for sure, however, it was purchased in January 2009. Might have been 2.7.
Did you make a pre-upgrade database backup?
esmi, thanks. No we did not do a back up, which we should have done. The web site still looks fine, it is only in admin where we have lost the Visual Editor. The HTML Editor is still visible.
Do you have any database backups? You may have damaged the database by attempting a huge upgrade in a single step.
No we do not have any back ups.
Have you tried:
– deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
– switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
– re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.
Thank you. Will try and get back to you.
