Did you update anything recently like plugin or themes?
Prior to updating to wordpress and the wordpress database to 3.3.2 version, all other plugins had been already updated.
I recently changed the theme from a wordpress 2.7 (only) compatible theme, to a genetic theme.
Have you tried:
– deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
– switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
– re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

—-how do you do that? Deleting the forementioned folders and then re-installing wordpress, or do you mean re-installing wordpress instead of updating/upgrading it?
No re-installing needed. Just delete the wp-admin & wp-includes folders and replace them with freshly downloaded versions.
