Thanks, Michael. Those only count words in a post or category don’t they? I’m looking for a utility to allow others to cut and paste words from anywhere into the counter. I suppose I could just link my page to the blog, but preferred to do it as a page using my WP theme.
there is also either a plugin or a hack to allow you to take a static page from a website and place it in your post.. ive never used it, but I have seen it before maybe that would work if it hard links to the js on your website?

You’re right, that’s not what I’m needing for the page I want to make, but it sure is a neat plugin. I’m going to download it for my own use. Making material easy to read is important, especially for my blog.

The plugin or hack you mention, estjohn, sounds like it may work. Does anyone know where I might find it? If not I’ll try to do a search later. Thanks.
Ahh off the top of my tired head, i have no idea.. I have got to get some sleep 🙁 I can try to look in a few hours when I get up if someone else has not found it or you haven’t.

Thanks for the ‘static page’ tip. That helped me know what to search for, and I found:

The last one especially sounds pretty cool, but I’m working a little slow right now so will take me awhile to look at all this stuff and see what is best. I’ll let you know what I figure out.
I installed the Wordstats plugin also, and it looks really good, tho haven’t had time to look at it much yet either.

I found a solution which seemed easier to me than the plugins for now, but later I want to look at them more thoroughly:
