while i suggest you follow Razzis advice and Tutorial here: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/41732/ because then you dont need to set up a standalone-script. (if you want this you’ll have to port the template into a WP-Template …)
furthermore if zenphoto isnt what you want or porting / creating an own template is too hard, you could take a look at http://www.folderblog.org , that has two beautiful templates named Relaxation and Almanac (both designed by Jowra) and im using it on my own site two. maybe i find time to release my template soon…

np, in order to see a few more folderblog customizations take a look at the link “get featured” on the folderblog-main page (remember fb isnt a plugin for wp, but similarly its a template based system that brings comments, rss, exif, nice urls, and so on – btw: no need for mysql-db)

I run a photolog whose theme I created (and consequently think is simple and good looking). It does thumbnails and all the links are really clean, none of this .php?p=4&cat=4 stuff. I’ve released all relevant code here, though it is not a simple throw-the-files-in-and-it’ll-work system, yet.
That bit I am working on, though I can help anyone who is otherwise interested in incorporating changes.
