Their functions are quite similar, although what I want is to make users to login everytime they visit the site, which may include a storage system with their password and usernames, email addresses…etc. My reason for that is to prevent underage viewers to view contents without their verification as my site host adult related contents. I hope there are other plugins specifically for that.
I somehow missed the important login requirement. To prevent people from seeing any content until they log in, there are several plugins you can use, one example is http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/force-user-login-modified/
Thank you, I will have a try. My purpose is:
*need to login before viewing contents except homepage
*need to verify age (over 18) to create account
*need to agree to terms of service to create account
*account does nothing to set up profiles, just simply a verification of age, agreement to terms
I guess the plugin you had given me was quite a good one, although I do not see there is a function for age verification, terms agreement…etc.
One more thing – there is no login system in that plugin you had given me. What should I do to get a login system that stores users pass and name and rest of the data?
The plugin you had provided was not too useful, I do not want people to login to wordpress but a custom login system. Secondly, I don’t want to block all contents along the homepage. Thirdly, the redirection to login to wordpress is not what i think would be best.
I had made a login system with wp-member, really happy! Now I am finding restricting access posts plugins.
I am having quite a trouble. I do have the login system now, but…something not right and I could not solve it.
*I want to protect all categories, and only logged in users can view it
*I don’t want Terms of Service post is even blocked out with login system layout in order to view the post
*I want people to be redirected to the login or signup page everytime they attempt going to the categories and posts.
Contact page as well I do not want it to be protected with login system layout. Any help? Thanks!
If you don’t want to use WordPress for the login system but want to choose which pages/posts are protected and which are not you are going to need to hire a developer to set this up for you.
There isn’t a plugin available that allows you to do what you want because it just isn’t possible to standardize something like this to work for all setups.
