    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

no, I haven’t tried that stuff. what do you mean by the Twenty Eleven theme?

The default WordPress theme. Is that working correctly?

I just tried that theme and it seems like it is.

Check that theme’s documentation and/or contact the theme’s developer. Also ensure that the theme is compatible with WordPress 3.0.1. The current version of WordPress is 3.3.2.

I’ve thought about updating to 3.3.2, but I’ve been nervous about it. when I upgraded to 3.0.1, it really messed the site up and the executive director went nuts. lol it may explain why it’s giving me a hard time about installing that phpmyadmin thing you were talking about before. we’ve also been having trouble with editing various parts of the page and the changes not saving, on computers that run on windows 7, which is what made me think to update to 3.3.2. but again, since the last time, I’ve been nervous about it.

    I think so.

Then it sounds like the theme is the issue. Either it has problems or it is not compatible with your version of WordPress (which is getting pretty old).

    (@peedeecoalition)

guess I’ll update the version to see if compatibility is the issue…here goes… lol

this is what I get when I try to update:

You cannot update because WordPress 3.3.2 requires PHP version 5.2.4 or higher. You are running version 4.3.3.

how do I update the php version?

    esmi

    (@esmi)

You’d need to contact your hosts about that.

I have updated to 3.3.2 but my header is still messed up and I tried looking for an e-mail for the theme’s creator but there isn’t one. is there a way to code it to offset the mess? I also can’t figure out how to get our logo in the header off to the left where there is a box.
