Upgrading Theme

    I am going to upgrade my journalized winter theme to the latest version. Will doing so affect the current layout and content of my blog? Do I need to back anything up prior to making the upgrade? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Always backup everything before upgrading.
    When you say upgrade do you mean to 1.5.2 ?

    Making a copy of the wp-content/themes/journalized-winter folder would backup the current installed version of that theme.

    As for affecting your current layout the answer could be yes depending on what you might have changed in the standard version of that theme or if the author has made any changes to the new version. It doesn’t seem that theme has been changed since June 7, 2005 at least with the gz file listed here:
    http://zed1.com/journalized/themes/journalized-winter/
