• I have been trying this all morning now and tried to find the solution on the forums, but without real succes. Hope that some can help.

I want to embed a Vimeo video. Using the straight URL works fine, but actually i want to chance the setting (video width and customized appearance.

Using this code to chance the width does not work, it only shows the plain text:
    [vimeo http://vimeo.com/37748636 w=480&h=270]

Using the embed code (old as well as the new iframe code) does not work at all.

I’ve installed this plugin (http://sct.temple.edu/blogs/it/2011/10/13/vimeo-embeds-issue-resolved/) and it actually worked once, but after I edited the post, I had the same problem as before.

    Really need help here…

Unless you have a plugin that explicitly handles the [vimeo] shortcode, that will not work on a self-hosted WordPress.ORG installation.

    Try using Viper’s Video Quicktags.

In addition to supporting lots of video providers, that plugin has many options for controlling the size and placement of the embedded videos, such as Vimeo.

JetPack is another plugin that handles that shortcode too but I think you’ll be better off with Viper’s plugin.

JetPack is the whole kitchen sink, Viper’s is more targeted to just videos. 😉
