The following problem occurs on http://dandydiapers.com :

If you do a search on ‘pads’, you will get a page entitled:

    Search Results for: pads

correctly containing two items, but incorrectly having navigation arrows for ‘More’.

When you click the ‘More’ arrow, you get a new page entitled:

    Search Results for: tranquility

which will show 19 items, which is correct if I had searched for ‘tranquility’, but I didn’t.

    Please help . . .

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

WP e-Commerce is the only activated plugin.
Do I risk losing settings and/or code changes if I deactivate it?

    No.

    I deactivated & re-activated WP e-Commerce, and I still have the problem.

Does that mean WP e-Commerce is the culprit?

No. You need to switch to Twenty Eleven and deactivate all plugins. Then – without doing anything else – check the site to see if the problem has disappeared.

But, when I deactivate WP e-Commerce, there are no products to search and any search simply says ‘Nothing Found’.

Do you not have any non-product posts?

    No I don’t.

Can you try publishing a couple?

At this point we want this to be only an eCommerce site and when a customer searches we want nothing but products to appear.

I understand that but you need to test out the standard search to determine whether this is a theme or plugin issue. You can delete these posts when you’re finished troubleshooting.

    Okay, I made 3 posts.

    Now what should I do?

Set the number of posts per page to 1 via Settings -> Reading.
Can you post links to these posts?

I have found that this problem was self-inflicted in an attempt to solve a larger problem.

So, this problem is solved and I will now make a new post of the larger problem.

    Thanks for your help, esmi!

Glad to hear that you managed to sort it. 🙂
