How do I link calendar function

How do I link the calendar function from the sidebar to a file outside the wp-content/themes/McFire directory. I want to build a home page that looks like blog site but have it in the home dir not in the blog dir. I you have an answer, please email me also as I have asked this before and can’t find my question in the forum. jco@vqoo.com
