You need to uncompress it with WinZip, WinRar or some other such program…
Yes obviously I unzip it
it comes to: rewrite-titles[1]
so i added .php to the end and tried to run it
there are garbage characters at the top and at the bottom of the file if i view it in wordpad
i activate it in wordpress and it doenst work, and all these garabage chracters show up
i tried remloving everything in the file other than what lies within the php tags
it says its activated, but the titles look the same
nothing changes
anyone? anyone have a working copy of this plugin

I have no problem unzipping it. Winzip may not be very friendly with tarred/gzipped files. Try: http://rarlab.com

If i strip everything and activate the plugin it simply doesnt do anything.

Finally managed to get the proper file out of the weird archive, I enabled the plugin but for some reason nothing is changing.
It is active but does nothing, any ideas?

Try deleting the file and reuploading.
apparently the problem I’m having is a conflict with the theme im using
im using ‘mallow’
when I disable it, the titles re write
when Its on, the titles dont change
I dont know what to do
u may ask the theme author about this.

Most likely the theme author is using a non-standard way of generating the titles. But as GenericSuperhero said, ask the theme author.
