• Trying to set up a WordPress site using HostGator and having an issue. I followed the 5-minute install steps, but when I try to run the install.php file by typing my htt://mywebsite.com/wp-admin.install.php, I just get the “Problem Loagin Page error in Firefox.

    So, I double-checked that the database exists, the wp-config file contains the correct info, and just about everything I could think of. I thought that maybe since it couldn’t access anything that I might have my wordpress files in the wrong directory, but I double checked and they are in the root directory for the site.

    Anybody know what I should be doing here in order to be able to run install.php? Thanks a lot.

    It should be: //mywebsite.com/wp-admin/install.php

    And yeah, it’s a “Server not found error” that I’m getting.

    I tried running install.php but got this error message:

    We were able to connect to the database server (which means your username and password is okay) but not able to select the excellen_wordpress database.

    Are you sure it exists?
    Does the user excellen_fort have permission to use the excellen_wordpress database?
    On some systems the name of your database is prefixed with your username, so it would be like username_excellen_wordpress. Could that be the problem?

    Can someone help me sought this out?

    @bradlee1

    Can you access a normal HTML page on the server?
