Static HTML Landing Page

Hello, I am trying to add an html page as a landing page. I have added the <?php /* Template Name: Home Page*/?> to the top of my HTML page, saved it as a .php, defined the templates on the page edit screen, created a news blog page, set static page and news page in reading,

The ‘page’ loads as it should but none of the ‘images’ are loading. I have checked the proper location and names of the files and they should be correct.
Can anyone help?
