• Hi,

I had this issue when creating my other wordpress site. (www.jemierjenkins.com) and now having the same problem with this site. I keep getting an error when I try to upload themes… I select the zip file on the installation page but it says it can’t install the package. Instead I have to go to my FTP site, create and upload each directory (which takes a lot of time)

Can you help me? so that I can just upload my themes directly on the site?

    Thanks,

What is the exact wording of the error?

    Unpacking the package…

    Installing the theme…

The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.

    Theme install failed.

I tried 2 different themes and it says the same error for both

Have you tried installing a theme from http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/ ?

    Theme install failed.

Did you verify that the ZIP package is in the proper format, i.e. that it has, at a minimum, a style.css file and an index.php file?

No, I have the theme I want. It works but I had to upload it directly through my FTP. I’m trying to avoid doing that again with my new theme because its extremely time consuming.

What, exactly, do you do to upload your Theme via FTP?

I go to my hosting account and create the folders and upload each sub-folder directly on my hosting account.

    …and upload each sub-folder…

Which sub-folders, exactly. That is: start with theme-name.zip, and walk me through your exact process.
