• Alright heres the story:

I was originally looking for a category invisibility plugin so that I could hide my Updates category. – which makes sense. But the first one I tried (Category Visibility) didn’t wouldn’t allow the user to view the Category page by itself. So I switched to Category (in)Visibility and now I can’t view my pages.

I have no idea how these two connected either, because the pages are not posted in the Update category so I’m just lost.

  • Did you deactivate the plugins?

Yes, of course 🙂 – I actually deleted the other two plugins after the were deactivated.

I also tested deactivating the plugin I’m using right now to see if the pages work, and they do so I’m stumped.

Is by any chance the “Updates” the default category?
I had a similar issue with the Catgeory Visibility plugin (by Keith McDuffee). Initially “Uncategorized” was the default cat, but the user later created a NEWS cat and set it as default. So, Pages created before the change had “Uncategorized” and those created after the change were in category News.
After activating the plugin to show only the News cat on frontpage, all the Pages created in Uncategorized showed a “Sorry, no post matched…” error msg. When I added the Uncategorized to the categories shown on front, they became visible.

No it’s not, I was already having a problem with the Default category in another situation but I resolved that one.

The Category Visibility plugin by Keith didn’t gave me errors and I couldn’t view the Category page by itself so I just said “screw it” and moved onto Ryan Poe’s plugin where the Category page works but now I can’t view pages. What an awful cycle this is.
