• I was updating and writing a new post and after finishing I saw that there was an update available. I tried to update, but it did not go through now when I try to log-in as admin. I get only this message

Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_get_update_data() in /home/content/03/8332303/html/wp-admin/menu.php on line 34

no idea what to do or how to fix this so that I can get back to my admin page.

    Please help!

Go in to your database via PHPMyAdmin and see if you can run a repair on your database.

Failing that, do a manual ‘upgrade’ of WordPress. Just delete the wp-admin folder and copy up a new one from the zip at http://wordpress.org/download/

Thanks I have been trying to follow your instructions to fix this problem, however, you may have vastly overestimated my expertise. I learned what PHP is and went to my GoDaddy database logged in through PHPMyAdmin but could not find any repair.
Downloaded the update of WP. Yet have no idea what a manual “upgrade” is or how to find or delete the wp-admin folder or copy up a new one from the zip in order to make fix this problem.

Your continued support and help is appreciated.

When you have a host with (decent) documentation, sometimes the best thing to do is to read it 😉
