Looking for a mobile detector for a new site and don’t want to commit to a dead plugin. I see it has been several months since this one was updated. Does anyone know the status?

Yes, it is active.

Most of the bugs have been worked out.

We also have a premium version of the plugin that is updated consistently as well.
