Problem with the big images and WordPress app

    Hi!

    This is my first post and i hope you guys can help me 🙂

    Got a WordPress Multisite installation 3.3.1 and have build a blognetwork.

    I got the problem that many of our users got very good cameras and every image are around 5 mb. We have tried many rezie images plugins for wpmu but the problem is that the wordpress app dont work when the plugin is active.

    We have a idea that when a user upload a image it saves 2 image “Thumbnail” and “the original image” if it only did save the thumbnail and dident save the original images, That would save a lot of space on our host.

    It is importet for us that user can upload images in the App becuse many users like that service.

    So if any one got an solution or a idea? i would love to hear! 🙂

    Is the problem that the images are too big and can’t be rendered, or that you ran out of space?

    I have not ran out of space yet, but the original images are relly big… do you have any way to make images smaller in size and the wordpress app still work?

    You can force image sizes by changing the upload limit, or there are plugins that resize. I think there’s one that forces smaller image ‘areas’ (i.e. by width/height), but I don’t know if it’s Multisite-able.

    yeah but the thing is if we use a plugin the app will not work i think 🙁

    Which ‘app’ are you talking about? A plugin?

    the wordpress app they can download from appstore so they can update there blog through there phone

    I use that app on my iPhone and iPad all the time, and I use a ton of plugins.

    Is there a specific plugin that magically breaks the iOS app? I’ve never had a problem.
