• I just want to make sure that a plug in is a plugin regardless of where you have your site. I have one using WP.com themes and one with .org… if I use a SEO plugin… it works just the same whether on .org or .com correct?

  • For all practical purposes, a WordPress plugin is a WordPress plugin.

However: wordpress.com does not allow you to upload plugins on their free hosting option, so if you have a wordpress.com blog, you’re going to be limited to whatever they make available to you.

ahhh .. ok thanks…looks like I will be xfering my .com to a hosted site. Thank you.

You will love the added freedom and functionality. I also recommend a Linux server as opposed to a Windows based plan, if you can. The benefits of using a Linux server will reveal themselves very quickly.
