pictures: uploading and inserting

please help!
i was uploading and inserting pictures just fine until i got the new version of word press.
i can’t do multiple uploads at once anymore (having to do them one at a time on the browser uploader) and then i can’t make the insert button work on any of the pages to put the pictures up!
