Edit Permalink Structure

    I want to have WP update my .htaccess file for me when I Edit Permalink Structure. I changed the permision on the .htaccess file to be writable, but for some reason WP still gives me this message when I Edit Permalink Structure:

    You should update your .htaccess now.

    What am I missing here?
