[Plugin: Simple Slides] Just does not work
-
Does not work and there is ZERO documentation to go on. Not even a working demo.
-
http://apocalypseboy.com/simple-slides/
documentation here 🙂Well be adding some demo soon.
Could you provide a simple example Tag?
Tried
[simple_slides id=”slideset_name” width=”500″ height=”200″]
But its not working.
Can you provide a link to your page?
Thanks.
1. Your slider doesn’t seem to have images in it. Please make sure that you have created at least 2 slides.
2. Update the plugin if its not the latest yet.
3. About the shortcode youre using.
– Theres no “id” attribute
– Use css value for width and height (e.g. auto, 200px, 100%)4. Start with [simple_slides] only. The slider is responsive now.
Okay, its working now.
If I could make an suggestion, I would recommmend giving an example tag in the first place, and I didn’t now that I had to put the images as “slide article image” instead of just loading it into the “slide article”….or did I oversee it in the documentation?
cheers,
svAnother thing. Now I have 2 slidesets (for 2 slideshows),
but it is all shown in one…if there is no id tag, how to distinguish?Hi,
Documentation:
http://apocalypseboy.com/simple-slidesDemos:
http://apocalypseboy.com/plugins/simple-slides/demosExamples and some notes are covered there 🙂
Also those documents are in constant improvement/change.About the id,
Automatically the sliders are IDed in order of. #ss_1, #ss_2, #ss_3 … so on.To customize this you need to use the ‘name’ attribute.
This attribute is still experimental and not included in the documents.e.g.
[simple_slides name=”foo”] would result to #ss_fooRest assured, we will be including these to the documentation updates.
Thanks!
Hey,
thanks for the information apocalypseboy!
I think it makes sense if there is one day a working name attribute for different slide shows, cause there are many people out there using several of them on their homepages 🙂
Another thing. Wanted to add a link to some of the images, and imagine putting the link in the article itself. I digged a bit in your code and wanted to wrap the image in a tag while looping through your slide posts, but wont work, because I realized that during the slide show only the background image of the div container ist changed…
Hi Again,
On the Add Slide or Edit Slide page. Expand the screen options and check ‘Slide Options’. It should enable a meta box with some available options including a slide link.
This will also be included in the future documentation.
Thanks.
mmmh, when I expand the options, I could add a title,
but there is no side link option:http://s7.directupload.net/images/120924/fbq5qatz.png
Do I have to enable this somewhere?
cheers,
danielPlease make sure you are using the latest version (1.4.0)
Nice, working good so far. What would be also nice is a column in the overview where the order is visible, imho.
cheers,
danielnoted 🙂
Hello,
I created 3 different sets for 3 different slideshows. When I enter the shortcode and the set name it still pulls up all images not just the set images?
Am I using the proper shortcode?
example: [simple_slides “name=slide_show_one”]
Thanks for your help!
