Recovering my password

My wordpress blog recently got hacked. After the cleaning service cleaned it out, I went to log into my blog in order to change the admin password and it would not accept the password I have stored in my password manager.

I have no recollection of changing it since the blog attack. If I had changed it, it should be in my password manager.

It also has the option of entering your email in order to retrieve your password, but it would not accept any email address I could think of that I could possibly have used to register the blog.

I entered my username and it accepted that, but all it said was “Check your e-mail for the confirmation link” without saying what email it had been sent to.

I save all important files to my hard drive but I could not find the confirmation mail from wordpress when I set up the blog that might contain the email address I used.
