Batch user management plugin

I *do* appreciate the security features WordPress offers against spamming. But, as a teacher, what would really make my day would be a small plugin giving me the opportunity to batch promote new users. Something like adding a box in the Registered Users section. The admin could check the boxes of the users he wants to approve and he could then batch promote them from 0 to whatever level he chooses.

Does that make sense to you?
