"Edit Post" does not display categories

    I posted this same topic several weeks ago but it never got a reply.

    I know that I still have all my categories, but they do not display on the “Edit Post” screen, so I cannot designate a category in a new post. For that reason, I quit using posts until I can get this resolved.

    Does anybody know how these categories can become invisible? The problem began before I updated my theme (Coraline) and persisted after the theme update.

    Should I reinstall WordPress 3.3.1 over the existing installation?
