dont know what im doing…help

    help, I’m new to wordpress.org and I’m already pulling my hair out. I have registered a domain name and a host through namesco.
    My website address is http://www.brain-storm.co.uk but how can i direct a wordpress theme to my home page so it updates it from the standard placeholder that Namesco provide. Please feel free to explain as if I were a child as I am a graphic designer and no nothing about this side of things! Any help you can give would be appreciated!

    hi esmi, I did a one click install of WordPress through Namesco. I’ve got an applemac if that makes a difference. Apologies for my ignorance!

    On further investigation, it appears that you have installed WordPress in your root domain. You now need to delete or rename your host’s index.html holding page in the root folder using FTP (or whatever file management application your host provides).

    Hi, and thanks for your help. I’ve not done this before (as you can tell!) but I’ll have a look and try and delete it. Where should it be installed then?

    It doesn’t matter. It’s fine where it is but you need to delete or rename the index.html file in the root folder of your site. Then you’ll be able to see your WordPress site.
