Visual Editor Not Working
-
I have had an issue with the Visual Editor Icon set missing since build 3.1. Till now I have just lived with this
Image1We have been using a WordPress Theme generated by http://www.yvoschaap.com/wpthemegen/ for over a year now.
When I click Upload/Insert the box is rendered far down on the bottom left and its unusable (full page screen capture to show this) Image2
I have tested by deactivating all plugins and re-installing 3.3 which seems to not matter. I still cannot use (or see) the Editor Visual Icon set. I tried other themes which did not make any difference with or without plugin’s activated. This was also no help http://en.support.wordpress.com/missing-visual-editor/ or this http://www.spyontech.com/how-to/missing-your-visual-editor%E2%80%99s-icon-after-upgrading-your-wordpress-here%E2%80%99s-the-solution.htm.
Any suggestions? Can I manually add any lines of code to resolve this? I’m getting frustrated that my CMS requires me to enter posts and pages manually… nobody else in my group knows how to do this so it all lands on me. Seems fairly simple to fix…?
Thanks.

From my experience with the visual editor, it looks like you may be having a problem with the CSS loading properly. Try these steps and I’ll see if I can help you track down the error.
- Clear your browser cache.
- Re-upload version 3.3 manually from the zip file.
- Does this happen on the edit and the new post/page editors?
I’ll check back in a few hours, so let me know how it goes.

Kevin,
Thanks for the suggestions. I looked up how to manually reinstall wordpress and at this moment I don’t have time to fix a major mistake in reinstalling properly (do you use this guide?)which I feel is probable haha.I cleared cache however and yes it happens on every page. I am at a loss though, I feel like I need to reinstall wordpress but I’m afraid of doing that at this moment.
I seem to have lots of errors related to jQuery and a FAQ plugin (this was a recent addition and was having the other problems before).
Hey J,
Disable all of your plugins and see if you have the same problem. The visual editor is obviously JS based, so your errors may cause problems with it. If that doesn’t work, then I’d recommend go ahead and re-install WordPress.
Let me know if that helps.

Kevin,
I had done that previously but I tried it again for hope of a miracle and nothing. Same problems.Maybe this weekend I’ll get some time to tear things down. Do you use that guide I posted previous?
What do your JS errors look like w/ all the plugins disabled?
Less, with some missing from the FAQ app that is malfunctioning.
I think that was the wrong screenshot…
It was at first, I corrected it, which is here also:
