    Yes I suppose you could calculate every possible piece of metadata and stick it in the database, but for such relatively trivial operations I wonder if that’s the wisest course.

    I have used the word count and it’s a cool thing if you are into that. 😉 It’s basically for people that want to know if they are too long winded in a post, at least that’s why I used it!

    Got the basic word count working. Now, is there a hack that’ll keep a running total of the number of words? I saw Matt had something like this on his site (although much more complex; in the Zeitgeist section) but the script has since been disabled and I wonder if he will release it to the public. 🙂
