Do you have the localhost in your permalink description?
Maybe it helps to refresh you permalinks.
Looks like you have http://www.rixandkay.co.uk/localhost in wordpress url in Settings>>>>General
You’ve probably got your WordPress URL/Site Address set as http://localhost/
Thanks. I already changed the the site in the wp options database. So that’s not the issue.
How do I change settings if I can’t access the Admin section?
I found another area in the WP options database which was referencing localhost as the home location. Now all the links are pointing at: http://www.rixandkay.co.uk/cgi-sys/www.rixandkay.co.uk/law-for-life/notary-public/
The second section is fine. I don’t understand why it’s adding this twice.
what ever it is it should be problem with your urls in wp_options what do you have as urls in 1 or 2 and 37 0r 38
What you have in permalinks in wp_options
permalink_structure = /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/
is all could find in WP options
Thanks for your help on this. I am struggling.
do you have your wordpress folders and files in root as they should be as you have both urls same in database.
I now have two domain names in your urls so did make any change in permalinks
Try and switch to default theme by renaming your theme folder and see if you still have same problem
I changed the theme and it still happens. I changed the locations in home and site in WP Options. Yes everything is in the root of the host.
I don’t know what to do next.
Do you have anything else in root apart from wordpress have tried to use default settings in permalinks
No I have nothing in root but the WP files and folders.
I am running a localhost version which is doing the same thing but it does this:
http://localhost/www.rixandkay.co.uk/law-for-business/
It is exactly the same as the online version. This means it’s putting it’s current location in before everything else.
How do I reset permalinks without getting into the dashboard?
Thanks
are you using a window server as I clicked on one of links and see pages with .asp if so dod you have php installed.
Right, following what you said I brought it up on another host.
rk.peterlewisallen.com
It works perfectly. So the issue is the new host.
I will do an htaccess redirect to the new host until I can work out the issue with the old one.
Thanks for you help with this.
