• Hi all,

Finally got the template I bought installed and running! WOOHOO! πŸ™‚ Yay me (and about 3 other people who helped πŸ˜‰ So you have it for my questions below, my site is http://www.corbingrimes.com

Anyhow – I’m looking to now manipulate some of the sample data and posts, replacign them with my own. I figured, bu loading the samepl data in, I’d get a good understandng of how to use WordPress – it was a good strategy cause I’m well onmy way! πŸ™‚

I’d like to tweak the categories area on the left of this template.

1.) I want to change the lable that reads “Categories” to “Article Categories” so as to better describe that this section of my site is dedicated to blog posts/articles.

2.) For some reason, I cant get more than the 9 showing to show, even though I have more than this. I’d like to show all categories. What page/code to I edit to get it to do this?

Thanks everybody! I am having so much fun and I’m happy to be here! πŸ™‚

  • As it’s a commercial theme we don’t have access to, it’s difficult to provide exact advice. However for point 1 maybe have a look on your sidebar.php file for that “Categories” text. For point 2, also have a look in your sidebar.php file.

Glad you’re enjoying WordPress. Good luck

Hi thanks for the reply but I didnt see any mention of category control or sysntax in any of those files noted above. There doesnt seem to be any type of editable syntax in those files to make the changes I noted.

If that category section in the sidebar is actually a widget have a look to see if you can rename the widget title in the widgets section of WordPress Admin panel – see http://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Widgets

Otherwise if you need to find and edit the text in the actual themes file consider using a tool such as Windows Grep to search for text strings in files.
