301 permanent redirects

    Hello Everyone,

    How long should I continue to have a 301 permanent redirect?.
    I changed my site to W/P In Oct and set redirects from my site .com to
    .com/articles. In all 14 redirects.
    Does having these in place to long have an overall affect on SEO?.

    To Swanson Photos,

    Thanks for your quick reply.
    The search engines have picked up the changes to new pages.My first page goes from .com to .com/articles Should I leave this and remove redirects from all other pages?.
    I have recently been experiencing a dramatic drop in traffic especially to other pages.

    Check each domain/page for how it is listed in SEO on all Search Engines.

    Redirects are supposed to be temporary when moving a site or doing maintenance not permanent..long standing redirection gets removed from SEO.

    A week – OK, longer, no.
