• Hello all!

    I’m using 1.5.1.3 “Strayhornâ€? and Mark Little’s “journalized-sand” theme.

After fixing a weird comment glitch, I finally got everything “working” yesterday… or so I thought.

Now, let me stress that I am a complete motard when it comes to CSS and PHP, but I thought I had made progress. Maybe not.

I was playing some some standard-sized banners above the head, placed in the theme-specific index.php. It seemed to work fine as the banner showed up for me, was nicely centered, yadda yadda.

This morning I went to show someone the banner and its placement, but it won’t show up for them. Even when I give them a direct link to the image it won’t show up! I’ve checked permissions and all seems to be well… and I’m about 1 camel light from ripping my hair out in clumps.

    Here’s the site: http://www.360vrwc.com

Here’s a direct link to the banner image which STILL shows up just fine for me on my machine and my machine alone:

Both my newbie self and my dwindling hair supply thank you in advance for any suggestions.

    Have a great Sunday,

    Brian

Actually, the comment issue seems to be cropping up again too… any reason that someone would be getting the “blank comment page” (but the comment is still sent) on just a specific machine?

I searched through this forum and checked my comments.php (in the journalized-sand index.php) and made sure I had the line that’s often missing when that happens, still nothing.

Again, any help is most appreciated.

    Regards,

    Brian

Okay, there are two issues here and we have a policy of one per post. Regarding the “banner” on the header. Does the person use Firefox and have any form of ad blocker running? It can recognize some “banner” content as ads, whether they are or not. I have problems with some sites in foreign languages when something on their page is thought to be an ad and is “gone” when it isn’t an ad. Ad blocker isn’t a perfect science but it is known to make some content disappear. Temporarily disable it and see if that works.

I just checked your site and that’s the problem. I disabled Ad Blocker and the ad appeared.
