All you need 🙂
Thanks anything that is free?
Nevermind, “HiDownload” has a free trial that doesn’t stain the video!
Thank you podz, you truely are a God among men!
There are a number of utilities that will grab any streaming media – if I remember where I got the prog I use, I’ll drop by your site 🙂
Ok thanks, what do you think I can use to grab the video from this site, where it is embedded:
http://nbc4la.feedroom.com/index.jsp?fr_story=dce44b55bc3e0274703940011f08e23b7aead264
The video is also viewable in IE only
Hi again;
Does anyone know how to “download” or take the video streamed from FOX , MSNBC, or CNN?
Thanks
Yup 🙂
Get Adblock for Firefox.

Marvel at the unintelligible Readme
It’s fairly intuitive to use 🙂Thanks, it’s a good thing I understand what @*F()_$ : means.
Anyways I appreciate the help but when I used AdBlockto get the embedded url it probably isn’t the url. For example at FOX I get this url:
http://www.foxnews.com/video2/flash_video.swf?ran=883744010&flaVol=100&showAd=true&ad1=http://oas.foxnews.com/RealMedia/ads/adstream_lx.ads/videoPlayer2005.foxnews/Politics/FNL/080105/pol_bush_bolton_080105/1379035798/x67/House_videop2005_flash_050610_h4/108006/39376334313663353432643835643330&vidFile=http://media.foxnews.com/080105/pol_bush_bolton_080105&speed=300&ad2=http://oas.foxnews.com/RealMedia/ads/adstream_lx.ads/videoPlayer2005.foxnews/Politics/FNL/080105/pol_bush_bolton_080105/848687104/x69/House_videop2005_flash_050610_h4/108008/39376334313663353432643835643330&ad1Link=http://oas.foxnews.com/RealMedia/ads/click_lx.ads/videoPlayer2005.foxnews/Politics/FNL/080105/pol_bush_bolton_080105/1379035798/x67/House_videop2005_flash_050610_h4/108006/39376334313663353432643835643330&ad2Link=http://oas.foxnews.com/RealMedia/ads/click_lx.ads/videoPlayer2005.foxnews/Politics/FNL/080105/pol_bush_bolton_080105/848687104/x69/House_videop2005_flash_050610_h4/108008/39376334313663353432643835643330MSNBC is Internet Explorer only, go figure.
anyways the fox url didn’t work.
not sure what to do :/
Also this is the video from FOX:
javascript:videoPlayer(‘080105/pol_bush_bolton_080105′,’Bush Appoints Bolton’,’FNL’,’acc’,’Politics’,’-1′);
or http://www.foxnews.com at the front page where it says Video, “Bush Appoints Bolton” .. that is the video I want.
The same video at CNN is: javascript:cnnVideo(‘play’,’/video/us/2005/08/01/bush.bolton.announcement.pool’);
or http://www.cnn.com and scroll down where it says:
Watch: Bush names Bolton U.N. ambassador
I would murder for the video 😉
Thanks
Fiddly way round:
Watch the video, note your clock time.
Find the browser cache
Find the largest file with the last modified time that corresponds to when you saw the clip. (On IE, they should be saved with their filetype. On FF, it’s a seemingly random selection of letters).
Copy it to desktop.
Rename it, giving it a .swf extension
Open with a browserTry that ?
(Works for me on Fox)Thanks podz for the help but again I am confused.
How do I “find the browser cache” for FF?
Thanks, Ian
Mine is
C > Docs & Settings > Application data > Mozilla > firefox and keep going til you find the cache.Err … this is frustrating. I sent you an email podz
I’m trying to download a video file using flashget or sdp downloader, but the download fails.
Here is the url:
mms://vid.walla.co.il/video/armageddon/212741-6.wmv
