• Hello friends.

I am not sure if this is an issue with the template or what, but ever since I started my blog in Feb ’05, it hasn’t auto-archived any posts. I have set the “show the most recent” to various numbers and it never seems to work.

Basically, I have been periodically manually moving the entries into an “archives” category, but now that there are hundreds of posts, one would have to be insane to try to load it. It’s basically a graveyard now since one can use the monthly links provided by WP to read old posts in smaller chunks.

I am using WP 1.2.2 and the site is http://www.theselector.org.

I’m sorry if I missed this thread elsewhere and appreciate any and all suggestions.

Thanks!
Jessica

• Archives are, technically, any post not on the front page. I’m not entirely sure what you mean when you say WordPress has not “auto-archived” your posts. In your sidebar is a header “Archives”, and under that is a list of links to historical posts grouped by month. For example,
http://www.theselector.org/index.php?m=200501

Clicking that link shows me the one post from January.

In what way is this not the expected behavior?

Hi! Thanks for the reply, I apologize for not being clear.

What happens is, in addition to the monthly archive links (which do work), all posts will remain on the “recent” page unless I move them manually.

I hope this is helpful.

More info:

For instance, my options, in WP are currently set to show the most recent 7 posts. As you can see, this is not what shows on my front page.

Thanks again.

Have you considered upgrading to the lastest version?
