• Hi everyone,

From time to time I’m receiving a window that freezes the current page I’m seeing, the message says

    "Script without answer"

A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.

    http://example.com/wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js?ver=1.6.1:17

now 2 buttons saying "Continue" or "Stop Script"

How can I know what is causing this issue to fix it?

    Thanks in advance

  • Try:
    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

    Hi esmi,

Do you think this will fix permanently the script issue?

I haven’t do this before and I wouldn’t screw up the site.

Do you know a little less “invasive” procedure to fix this? if not I’ll need to try this option.

    Many thanks again

I’m sorry but this is part of the initial troubleshooting process. It’s not invasive and should not cause any permanent damage.

Thanks esmi, in that case I’ll need to try to do what you suggest me.

    Thanks for your help.
