Syntax Error on non-existent Line
-
Hi all,
I hope someone can help me with this as I am rather green at it all and I’ve created a mistake that took my site down. I am using the theme package Genesis with News Child.
I went in to add a chunk of code on the end of the functions.php on the theme editor.
I added it, tried it out by updating the file, and received this error:Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘.’ in /home/dplaczek252/verendusproject.com/wp-content/themes/news/functions.php on line 87
I pressed the back button, deleted the new chunk and closed the code off as it had been, but when I tried to update the file again, I received the same error message.
However, there is now no line 87 (that was from the new code). Current code ends on line 85. I’m assuming it’s still looking to that old code and the dashboard I used to try and fix the error message was useless and simply a ghost.
Any help would be amazing, even if it’s telling me a more proper forum to go to! Like I said, I’m very green here and shouldn’t have even touched that code.
