• I am having trouble assigning a parent to a new page I want to add to a website.

According to the WordPress user guide a page can be added thus:

To begin the process, go to Administration > Pages > Add New panel, in the upper right corner of the panel and click the “Page Parent” drop-down menu. The drop-down menu contains a list of all the Pages already created for your site.

My issue is that the drop-down menu does not contain all the pages already created, only some of them (and naturally the one I’m after does not appear in the list).

Can anyone tell me what I’m doing wrong?

  • That dropdown should contain all of the pages. However, I would recommend a plugin called ‘pageMash’, it is very good and allows you to order the pages using drag and drop.
