I have a ProPhoto 4 blog. All of a sudden my fixed sidebar and my sliding drawer sidebar had vanished, although I hadn’t made any changes. It looked fine inside the widget-area (everyting “was there”), but it just didn’t show on the blog. I tried with different browsers. I wrote to the support at ProPhoto and got the following answer:

“It appeared to be a WordPress stats plugin (WP SlimStat and WP SlimStat Dashboard Widgets) that was inserting itself into your fixed sidebar, which was goofing up all of your widgets. I got those deactivated and now your widget areas are displaying correctly again. If you can live without that one, do so. Otherwise contact the plugin author for help, or look for a different plugin to accomplish the same task.”

Is there any way to make this work?

    Hi Camu,

Thank you for your offer, but it’s solved now. A lot of other plugins started to struggle as well, so I ended up contacting the support at ProPhoto again. After several hours I got this answer:

“Ok, I think it may have actually been a bug in the ProPhoto files. We ended up seeing a similar type issue the other day that got fixed in a ProPhoto update, so I replaced it (and WordPress just to be safe) and activated all of your plugins again and it seems to be working ok now. I’ve checked several times to see if it stops working again, like you and I saw, but so far, it’s still looking correct. So I hope that takes care of it. But if it disappears again, be sure to let me know! Thanks”

Sorry for this and thank you again for being willing to help me!

Thank you for the status update, Jane. No apologies needed, the most important thing is that you were able to figure out where the problem was!

Have fun with your stats! And please consider voting for my plugin, it’s a nice way to say thank you 😉
