Can't Make Text Blocks

Hi, I am doing a website for a client here – http://www.caverlawoffice.com – and for the slider on the homepage, I am trying to get two blocks of text right next to each other.

The only way I could figure out how to do this was by just putting the right amount of spaces in so that it looked like two blocks of text, but on computers with different resolutions, it looks all jacked up.

Can anyone tell me how to make two blocks of text? It would be much appreciated.
