Scrolling header plugin

Hi, I’m currently using featured content gallery as a scroller at the top of my site but would like to move the scroller above the centre column into the header, however the images won’t be wide enough – I’ve seen a scroller on the Liberal Democrat website http://libdems.org.uk that has a piece of the next two images ‘frosted’ our either side of the current post. Is there a plugin that anyone knows of that works in the same way?
