I was reading erika_conn’s post on how to Turn a Page Title into a Link and saw that it was possible in the theme they were using.

However i’ve got the motion theme running and want to link the menu item (second level) called “My CV” to be able to link straight through to the pdf file hosting my CV/resume.

I tried to find the code that buddha trance was talking about in their post, but could not find it in my header.php file.

Could someone take a look at my site (running the motion theme) and see if they can identify which part of this theme needs to be hard coded, and what the revision need to be so that I can go straight to my hyperlink. My site is here

    Many thanks for any help
    Tim

You probably aren’t seeing buddhatrance’s code in your header.php because your menus are being created dynamically. If that’s the case, then you need to edit through the WP admin.

I’m not familiar with your theme, but this is how you would accomplish your goal with TwentyEleven, the default theme that comes with WordPress. Maybe your theme will be set up similarly.

Go to Appearance>Menus and then the box titled “Custom Links.” There you can enter any link (in your case, the link to the PDF) and it automatically is added to your site’s main navigation.
