    On 2011, that does not happen by default, you must have removed a background colour during your edits… or removed a clear

    The big problem I see here is that you edited 2011.

    You really need to create a child theme. When 2011 is updated, which is likely on the next WP upgrade, all of your changes will be lost

    Yes – I am thinking of starting over and making a child theme…
