that error is really strange. I had a look into that but couldn’t find any problem.
Is the theme written by yourself? There seem to be some errors in the html source code, could that be the cause for that issue?

Hmmm … tricky one. The theme is ZeeSynergy – not written by me, and unaltered save for a few little cosmetic tweaks. Only seems to be the instpress widget I have a problem with but it could very well be the theme, I’ll change it and see if it fixes it.

Well, after much messing about, it seems that it is indeed a problem endemic to the theme not the widget. I’m still not entirely clear why but it seems to happen with most widgets that display images from external sources. I’ve changed themes and it all seems to be fine.
