• When making tables sortable, they aren’t sortable when viewed with Firefox, Opera, but when viewed with Internet Explorer and Chrome they are.

I created a small 4×3 table, filled it with random letters for testing purposes, made it sortable and then tested with themes Belle and Shell Lite. WordPress 3.2.1 & WP-Table Re 1.9.2

    Hi,

    thanks for your post.

Usually, when something like this happens, there is a JavaScript conflict going on between the sorting script and some other plugin. In some browsers, the functionality then does not work, while in others it still does.

Can you maybe post the URL to a page with a table where this is happening? Maybe I can find out what the problem is.

    Thanks,
    Tobias

I removed all non-essential plugins, de-activated (now re-activated) all other except WP-Table Re and the problem persists.

    Hi,

    thanks for the link.
I can confirm that the sorting somehow does not work in Firefox (I can’t test with Opera), but I have no idea why.
All things that have been known to cause something like this seem to be ok…

Does this also happen with the WordPress Default theme? If yes, there probably a problem with another plugin.
If not, it’s likely an issue with the theme.

As I don’t have any more ideas, I suggest that you post this problem to the DataTables forums at http://www.datatables.net, where the developer of the sorting library can hopefully help. He simply has more experience with this than I do.

    Regards,
    Tobias
